It’s not hard to find a reason to celebrate when you’re in a fun city like Orlando! Below, we’ve put together a list of just a handful of the many awesome festivals and events that are held in Orlando all year long. Read on to learn more!
The Citrus Bowl
This crowd-raising collegiate football face-off takes place on New Year’s Day each year, bringing top college teams from the Big Ten and Southeastern conferences to compete in a non-playoff game at Camping World Stadium. Enjoy the festivities leading up to the event, such as the Florida Citrus Parade, the Citrus Bowl Pep Rally, and tailgating on the day of the game.
The Florida Music Festival
Held in downtown Orlando on the third weekend of April annually, the Florida Music Festival showcases the talents of up-and-coming musicians hoping to hit a radio near you. Some of the biggest artists in the music industry have played the Florida Music Festival before becoming famous, including Taylor Swift, Matchbox Twenty, The Dirty Heads, Flogging Molly, Third Eye Blind, Lupe Fiasco, and more. Admission to the festival venues is free, making this event a fun and affordable option for your vacation.
Fireworks at the Fountain
Every 4th of July, Lake Eola Park hosts a spectacular array of fireworks and light shows at the lake in a celebration of Independence Day. Long before the fireworks are set off, however, the festivities begin with live music, tasty food, cool drinks, activities for children, and more. The celebration takes place on the afternoon of July 4th until the conclusion of the fireworks display.
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios
Beginning in mid-September and lasting through early November, the famous theme park Universal Studios plays host to ghouls and goblins as visitors wander through its park. Halloween becomes the dominant theme, with creepy live shows, nine haunted houses throughout Universal Studios, and five creature-filled scare zones—on top of its already thrilling rides and attractions!
Christmas in the Park
Hosted by the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, Christmas in the Park is an annual celebration that takes place on the first Thursday of December each year. During the festivities, the museum lights up its Tiffany stained-glass windows and holds a concert featuring the Bach Festival Choir and Brass Ensemble. The event is free and begins with the window-lighting at 6:15 pm.
