As March draws close, the first signs of green everywhere don’t always have to do with the promise of spring. St. Patrick’s Day is coming, and in Orlando, we all become Irish, if only for a few days! The celebrations start early, as this holiday falls on a Tuesday this year, but because you have no schedule to follow when on vacation, the early start just means you have more days for the wearing of the green! These Orlando activities will ensure that even if you don’t normally acknowledge St. Patrick’s Day, this year you won’t want to stop celebrating!
St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, March 14
We can’t help but giggle a little at the name of this fun pub crawl, and because we believe that practice does make perfect, we hope you check it out for yourself! Sponsored by the Orlando Pub Crawl, the festivities begin at 8PM at Lizzy McCormack’s Street Party and end at 2 AM with the last call at the Wall Street Plaza’s St. Practice Day Block Party. The crawl offers a variety of drink specials for your $10 ticket purchase when purchased before March 4th; prices go up to $15 and then again to $20 on the day of the crawl.
St. Patrick’s Day A La Cart, March 14
If all the beer you are drinking is making you hungry, this food truck cavalcade offers a traditional Irish feast for your enjoyment—plus more beer! The craft beers served at this fun food fest are destined to become your new favorites, but the Guinness in cans also offered help keep the Irish in St. Patrick’s Day! The fun starts and ends at 609 Irvington Avenue, lasting from 11:30 AM until 11:00 PM, allowing you to finish out the celebration at any of the Irish pubs in the area. Claddagh Cottage Irish Pub on 2421 Curry Ford Road is always a good choice!
St. Patrick’s Day at the Veranda, March 17
Yes, you read that right; this celebration is being held on the actual holiday! Held at the Veranda in Thornton Park at 707 East Washington Street from 6-11 PM, this cool celebration promises to offer music, fun, and your favorite drinks! And because it ends before the last call, why not finish up the day with a ride-share to McGinnty’s Irish Pub (5406 Hansel Avenue) for a pint and some Irish appetizers?
