Shopping in Orlando
For those who love to shop, you’ve come to the right place. Orlando is a veritable shopping mecca, and is host to everything from fun and eclectic bazaars to high-end luxury malls. Shopping is so popular in Orlando that a number of mixed-use venues have sprung up featuring on-site apartments as part of the shopping mega-complex. You most likely won’t want to relocate and move into a mall, however, we’re sure you will want to take advantage of the wealth of awesome shopping that Orlando has to offer, so we’ve compiled a list of our favorite shopping venues.
Orlando’s Best Malls
If you really love malls, you absolutely must go to The Mall at Millenia. This sparkling, ritzy epitome of luxury shopping has got all of the shops that cater well to those with shiny object syndrome and a love of luxury goods; names like Emporio Armani, Chanel, Rolex, and Versace grace this architectural wonder of a mall, and you can also find classic standbys such as Macy’s, Banana Republic, and Abercrombie and Fitch. There’s plenty of food to be had, and there’s even 2 (one on each floor) Starbuck’s to keep you revved up. The Florida Mall is the largest indoor shopping mall in the Central Florida area, boasting over 270 stores and restaurants. This is a popular stop for shoppers with several exclusive, trendy retailers and plenty of familiar brands. If you just can’t get enough of Disney, Disney Springs is home to a long lakeside string of shops featuring Mickey, Marvel, Lego, and all things Central Florida.
Orlando Discount Outlet Centers
For the ultimate outlet center shopping experience, you’ve got to go to Orlando Premium Outlets. With two locations, Vineland and International, in Orlando, you will not believe the amount of discount merchandise available at this place! Over 100 outlet stores per mall beckon you to score killer deals on brand names such as Barney’s, Elizabeth Arden, Coach, Diesel, Fossil, Crocs… the list goes on and on. You might want to pick up an extra suitcase at the Samsonite store there—with a deep discount, of course.
Eclectic Orlando Shopping
Not into mainstream malls but love the concept of loads of eclectic shopping? Then the hipster districts of Orlando are for you. These cultural havens offer loads of unique shops with artsy one-of-a-kind items and plenty of locally made wares. For stylish unique shops in a European atmosphere, check out Thornton Park. Audubon Park is where you want to be on Monday nights when local artists, craftsmen, musicians, and food producers show up en force at the Community Market. Be sure to visit the historic Milk District, a shopping, dining, and nightlife hub where you’ll find everything from vintage clothing to antiques and eclectic handmade goods. Ivanhoe Village, formerly Orlando’s historic Antique Row, stretches along the lakefront and offers a fabulous variety of cool funky shops.
